The Sentara data center renovation consisted of the demolition and construction in a former hospital converted to a robust outpatient campus and IT office space. The work was conducted adjacent to a free-standing 24-hour emergency department. The project included complete interior demolition to remove 100% of abandoned electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, and build-back of approximately 24,000 sf, including 8,776 sf of Data Center space. The Data Center consists of two, 2MW generators with supporting diesel fuel tanks, three air-cooled chillers feeding 10 CRAC units, and approximately 14,000 sf of raised access flooring.
